Campo Viejo has been part of the history of La Rioja since it was founded. Throughout these years, we have very carefully watched the birth of each of our wines, from the vineyard to the bottle. As one of the best and most modern wineries in the world, we combine tradition and experience to produce wines with personality and character. At the heart of La Rioja, inside the ground, the new winery of Campo Viejo stands in an exceptional land for growing vineyards and making and aging wine. The Juan Alcorta Winery, given that name to honor its founder, is situated in a 110-hectare estate whose excellent vineyards enjoy the benefits of a soil with singular characteristics. At the highest point of the estate, on a hill overlooking the Ebro Valley, lies the buried cellar, and above it a spectacular building with simple lines, camouflaged in the landscape and with the color of the land in which grow vineyards more than 25 years old. Inside the cellar, the modern installations meet the tradition of burying the produce. Seven meters under the ground, 70,000 oak barrels and 6,000,000 bottles rest in an isolated atmosphere, free from air currents or temperature changes, so that our wines complete their aging in a calm and quiet place.
